Mold Design

The mod design stage is very important in plastic mold project development. Most of the mold lifecycle costs are committed at design stage. The mold design is not just based on good design but it should be possible to produce by manufacturing as well. Often an otherwise good design is difficult or impossible to produce. Typically a design engineer will create a model or design and send it to manufacturing for review and invite feedback. This process is called as design review. If this process is not followed diligently, the product may fail at manufacturing stage.This design practice not only focuses on the design aspect of a part but also on the produciability. In simple language it means relative ease to manufacture a mold or assembly.

A well-designed mold can reduce the overall cost of the tooling and parts in production as well as reduce the tuning time after mold trial, and hence directly benefit to our client. GPT understand this principal, and we have allocated a huge resource on mold design process;

Using state-of-the-art 3D design software, we will transform your product ideas into reality. Our experience in the design, development, and manufacturing of custom injection molds and support tooling provide the expertise needed to solve any product challenges. We welcome the opportunity for early vendor involvement during the conception stages of your project.  This allows for early design input that could improve the manufacturing of your product, while reducing cost and time to market.
Understanding advanced mold making process and technologies,

we utilize the latest CAD/CAM tools to transform our customer’s concepts into viable finished products. GPT Precision Mold will communicate with customer quickly and effectively to accommodate all mold design modifications or revisions.

The software we employ includes

Pro/E Cero2.0, AutoCAD 2012, SolidWorks 2013, Mastercam 9.0, UG NX8.0, and Cimatron E8.5.

We are Capable of converting 3D data files from any formats, such as IGES, DXF, STL, STEP, etc. For the provided 3D part model, we will review clearly and make feasibility report and feedback to customers for any problems we found before start mold design.
