What is rapid prototyping 3d printing?
Release time:2019-09-04
Rapid prototyping systems emerged in 1987 with the introduction of stereo lithography technology, a process that solidifies the liquid polymer layers sensitive to ultraviolet light with laser technology. In the following years, other vowin.cn' target='_blank'>rapid prototyping technologies were introduced, such as: Deposition Fusion Modeling (FDM), Selective Laser Sintering and Laminated Objects Manufacturing. The industry’s first rapid 3D prototyping system based on FDM technology was introduced by Stratus’s in April 1992.

Rapid prototyping allows the rapid fabrication of physical models by using data from the three-dimensional computer-aided design (CAD) system. The 3D printing machine reads the data from the CAD drawing and deposits successive layers of liquid, powder or sheet material to build the physical model from a series of cross sections. Rapid Prototyping used in a wide range of industries allows companies to quickly and effectively convert innovative ideas into successful end products.

Rapid prototyping can be useful in all ideas and industries, so, depending on the context, the techniques to be used may vary, in order to obtain the best result.  Rapid Prototyping is used in the experimentation stage of Design Thinking, through which you can bring your ideas to life and test it with your future clients in order to obtain feedback and allow to improve.

Rapid prototyping techniques offer several benefits:
* Rapid and effective communication of design ideas.
* Effective validation of design fit, form and functionality.
* Less production design defects and better final products.
* Greater design flexibility, with the ability to quickly go through several design iterations.
